What is a decent video camera video camera?

I am looking for a digital video camera, but I'm also looking for more information about them. I'm not sure what is Mini DV. I think thats what its called. I see that some cameras have Memory Sticks. I like to use my computer to make movies chapters and chapters. There was an analog camera and a video in the team had the best quality. Mainly I want a camera to take to events and careers. I'm not sure what a decent megapixel would be. I do not need something top of the line. brand does not matter. Something practical and easy to use.

Short answer … I'd recommend Sony first. that is the only brand of video camera that has 'night vison' … that is, the ability to record in zero lux (no light … complete darkness) … and low lux (low light levels). No other brand can do that. Model depends on your needs / desires. No I like the CD burning thing … using battery power for the laser and the CD-engine transport if the camera is on … : (And Impact and vibrations can be a problem … sometimes. Mini DV tapes are like small … which remains digital. Tapes are cheap and easy … low = any tape, moisture / humidity can be a problem (but I have several brands of cameras, my Sony has Never Let Me Down). … Memory sticks Well, if you can get with a great capacity enough, without costing an arm … might be easier to xfer to computers, and some of the HDTV. But the video it takes a lot of space, unless downward adjustment of the size and quality of the image … and that's why I keep using the Google Mini. I think the top 3 will be Sony … Panasonic … and Sharpe. I have a Panasonic, also … not bad … has a couple of features of my Sony does not … but still prefer Sony … cuz night vison. When shopping … pay attention to the media communication where it is loaded from. Think of the camera is mounted on a tripod, and having to change out the media to cool … if you load from Basically, it can be a real problem. And think of the exchange process output and handling of DVDs, at the races … or during any event. Everything needed is a spec of dust or dirt … a fingerprint … spot … and may or may not record properly.
