Can a tire pressure monitor system be altered?

I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD that has a tire pressure monitor system. The settings for the rear tires is 70 psi. My tires are worn on the inside due to over inflation because I don’t tow that much. If I lower the pressure to correct this I get a low pressure warning in the driver information center. Can this system be re-programmed to a pressure that’s more in line with what I need?

It can be adjusted by altering the trucks on-board computer software, your local chevy dealership’s mechanic should have a program to do this.
